Hakuba Ski Trip 2005

Goryu, Nagano.

Nopes its not Nagano yet. We had dinner at Tokyo Station,
eating our usual Curry Rice and Soba. Everyone was enthusiastic,
SN brought a BIG red bag he won at a lucky draw. Housing a Pro-cam
and tripod. After dinner was a trip to the loo, and AM-PM convenient
shop to get some drinks and a very shiok 100yen chocolate ice-cream!!
(yea, wearing a jacket and 2 layers of clothing and eating ice-cream does not mix eh.)

We walked aimlessly for another 1 hour odd, going to the toilet AGAIN
and sitting down talking kok...

WHOA that was boring.

Noticing a group of Ang-Mohs and people with really big bags holding their snowboards,
we gathered that i must be them. The Tokyo Outdoor Group.

They are an ensemble of people from all over the world, who are currently staying or touring in Japan. Unfortunately, there werent many asian girls. I was disappointed. Hahaha. NOT.

Ricky is the organiser of this whole thing. They have a yahoogroup thingy which we suscribed to. They are going paragliding this weekend. i guess, won't be going though, cuz i will be going on yet another trip somewhere. Hehe...life is damn freaking good over here. Maybe i'm finally earning my own money. Nikko, North-west of Tokyo? no idea. Fiona is organising this one.

We walked quite a distance before getting onto our Night Bus. This bus runs overnight to the destination, so that we can sleep all the way to Hakuba. Unfortunately, that was the ideal situation. With breaks every 2 hours, we go for our toilet breaks, touch up on our make up, buy our hot drinks, get some meat on sticks, or just simply sleep through the breaks. I slept through the last one. One thing learnt, is never to sleep at the back of the bus. No reclining seat. Totally uncomfortable and i was lucky i was ass tired. Even so, my neck protested everytime i sit up a little.

The route there took us from the buzzling city, to a highway with no lamp-post, aka rural area. It was fun in the sense, that i am out of this damn city. The rural offer much scenery in the dead of the night. Absolute darkness. haha.

One hundred and two thousand breaths later, i am at Hakuba. Finally. It was getting rather uncomfortable sleeping on my side with my head on my green Quiksilver bag which some good friends bought for me long long time ago.
