I Can See Things

Okay, i see things. fullstop. This is my second time writing this friggin blog. 3rd if you considered my PDA's. so here goes. definitely not in the original tone. =P

"i like to see things afar. with my elvish eyes, i can see what lies ahead of me way before it happens. but with this elvish eyes, i am cursed. for it has blinded me. I cannot see? no. I did not see what's right in front of me." - a funny eyebrowed person with a penchant for looking too far. way too far.

So here's the story, and it goes like this.

On the way to work, i was thinking, what a nice tire i had. How much will it cost to change one of them. how long will they last? and hey presto, i get an answer. 1500 yen please. 1575 with tax thank you. yea. on the way back home, it "pon-checked". Not before i cycled 500 metres away from the nearest busstop. Not before mistaking my friend's bike for mine. Not before i cycled up a slope looking too far ahead. Not before i DID cycle up the stairs instead. Not before i knocked my knee against the bike. Not before i yelled out the four letter word in pain. "Cake"?

So... went to Esso, "you aren't driving a frigging car idiot."...
went to another auto shop..."didn't the guy at esso tell you....you ain't driving a frigging car idiot." ...so...a few "どこ 修理する できる?” later ....i was at Donkey somthing...

"ah....the perfect customer...someone who doesn't know the market rate...can you speak japanese?" (okay i kinda forgot how to write this blog already...it's my 3rd time....)...

"no i can't...but i will try". a few simple japanese involving "air" "pump" "can or not" "service" "hole" "puncture" later....

"you can't do it now?!"

"nah...i have to go home"...

"but i am friggin hungry too!!" i said...

"nah...明日 明日”...since he looked pretty nice guy...with all that grease...

"okay...fine...how much is it?"...

"1500 yen." 23 Sing dollar. Great. Did i tell you i'm driving a mama-san Sunday morning grocery shopping mo-mo-cherry bike with a basket in front and 6-speed Shimano gears?? Yea i will win the Tour de France tomorrow if i have my tyres fixed and win millions. But hey, today, i am a poor kid with only this much to spend this month! i can forget about paying my rent if my pay comes late. wat to do. drag the frigging bike home 5 km away? with an empty stomach?...my far sight and near sight finally agreed. LOVELY Day. so i walked to that bugger bus stop that's 500 metres away...i doubt it's only 500...=) why not take out my ipaq MP3 player and listen to some music to chill out...at least it won't spoil on me like that bluddy bike....

yea, led you on. It did happen. right after i wrote half of this blog no less. full stop.

So. on the way back home, i wished for world peace forever, no earthquakes forever, no fighting forever, no greed, equality, respect, lots of LOVE, so as to achieve happiness, prosperity and progress for our nation. Singaporean indeed. Too bad i missed last night's match at Kallang. Must be great. Well. i did try my luck and wished for snow. Ah..maybe it will take a few hours. i'm WAITING.

so...while typing this for the 2nd time, yea...i thought about how this might just happen. "Zap". i pressed the previous page button, and the space bar together. not a very easy combination, but i did it SOMEHOW. whish. my blog was gone with the stroke. i went back to the other page. and when i am back...no amount of Ctrl-Z could undo anything. Cool. At least get to practice typing.

I'm still WAITING.

Okay, that wasn't really how it's like...haha...i'm pretty chilled...been there done that....it always happens when i don't have enough sleep. I will blame the sky and all that...but heck...it ain't gona help much. So final analysis. Chat too much on MSN last night - not enough sleep - too much brain work at the office - Bang - hit the stairs. Tyres puncture due to extreme sharp stress. Tires run out of air at 500+ metres. Bike handle stops absorbing road inperfection. ipaq ran out of battery due to faulty headphone stuck into it. Headphones faulty because i left them in the outer pocket during rain two day ago. Too much caffiene to keep awake in office. Jitters, tired, hungry, only instant noodles for dinner - loss of concentration - fingers press wrong key - warning comes out, but reflex is to get rid of it - swoosh. blog's gone.

so. you see. bad luck isn't everything. It's how you treat yourself and your stuff that, one day, will come back and haunt you in one frigging lovely day. Respect your body and things around you. Life is not all that bad. There isn't such thing as bad luck. Just forgetting to count your blessings. which i conveniently omitted in this blog for the EFFECT. haha =)

P.S. I did have a lucky clover with me eversince Jan 1st. It "helped" me get back my camera. So lets see what else can i gain from all this. Free bike repairs?? =)

Edit> FOURTH EDIT. Things just can't get better while you are at it.
This thing frigging hanged on me!!! WHERE IS MY SNOW?!
hehehe...life of an insomniac. =P

Oh dear, you're having "one of those days" eh.

Well, if it's any consolation, me with my big fat degree didn't do any better with technology.
How many times it was that I wrote a blog entry, some 3-4 paragraphs, walked away to do something, came back, editied it with a few more paragraphs and hit the submit key, only to get an error....and to surprise, surprise, the 'back' button on firefox brings you to an empty blog entry page.

So I feel your pain....

Do cheer up, with all the snow and all. At least you can tell your kids that you've ridden a bike in japan before, got a flat tire, and was stuck out in the snow cold and hungry =P
