My Perspective - Impressions of Others

Firstly, my faith is never with the media. Who's to say Japanese are X and Singaporeans are Y? Do you not know good and bad singaporeans yourselves? Do you want to be condemned because of the minority ugly singaporeans? Who makes it to the papers most of the time?

"Singaporeans" is a label we have thanks to the randomness of nature. Ugly Singaporeans. Singaporeans who drive Mercedes grabs free textbooks. Does this accurately describe us? True there are definitely more wolves in sheeps clothings. But there are others who are nice enough to give QUIETLY to others. No one ever make a fuss over a kind act.

This is no basic science, where you see an observation or two and put your bet on your hypothesis. There is no right or wrong answers until you are able to get the truth from 100% of the population. (As i have written before.) Which is NEVER. So, have an OPEN MIND. You dont have to form a conclusion within your lifetime. No one asked you to. Its just a few observations. F the media. Dont get depressed over your inaccurate conclusion. Some i know are. Its not worth it. I was there as a child.
If you look deeper, and if you WANT TO, you can see that there ARE people who are going against what you have concluded. These people are not loud people. Not like those inconsiderate bastards.
What are people in sociology doing, i frankly dont know. They are not helping much.
What can a white paper do, when the rest of the world will never hear of it in a understandable way?

Even within a person like me, i am never 100% kind or bad. I have my certain balance of good and bad. On really really bad days, i will do what an asshole will do. Thank God i do it only a few times so far. I have lived in regret for the past 4 years because of one of them. I can be really bad if i want to. but no friend of mine sees me in that light. Only the ones on the receiving end. heh. If those had been the loud ones, i wonder what will happen. or happened.

SO. Getting a 70% yes and 30% no, then create a conclusion that condemns the 30%, that is wrong. That is why some people get so fustrated with the worldly issues.

So what caused all this blogging this time? Language.
When you write an article in a pubic domain, have some sense of maturity/duty.
"The Japanese" as opposed to "Some of the Japanese".
The former is much stronger compared to the latter. I always use my words wisely, especially when i found out that there are still some people with really simple minds. They take whatever that is written pretty literally. They are called children*. They are blind. Your words will carry a much heavier weight than is intended. With their fragile minds, the last thing you want to do is to imprint an impression that will affect their thinking. We have come out of childhood with some of the weirdest "truth" that keeps us well-behaved didn't we.

As a small time blogger, it may not seem too much of a worry. But, as you are talking in a public domain, the chance that someone will stumble onto your site is never zero. Unless you hide your site, which defeats all purpose in having it in the Internet in the first place. There are billions of people who may stumble onto your site. One of them is going to be a child*. It takes just one to spread to thousands. Many events that "will never happen" happens.
Be safe. Use a condom. MUAHAHAHAHA. =)

okok...crap. Sorry for the long read. Been a long time since i had so much time in my room...couldnt resist writing...hehe...i am no socialist, so teach me.

*Whether in age or in maturity.

Good one, mate! Keep blogging like this and I'll send you a bouquet of roses & a box of chocolates! :)

As a univ grad, we (should) have the benefit of being critical thinkers, capable of examining statements and supporting evidence.

Easy to say yet a daily challenge for all of us.

Hmm..are you really serious with the roses and chocolates?? delicious ne!
Its a tradition for Girls to give guys chocolates on V-Day, but i dun think i will luv you anywayz. haha. crapz.

Critical thinkers still gotta make sure they don't critisize for the sake of critisizing. Its certainly not the case of "the more the merrier". so...hehe...wait till something pisses me off again. Till then, i shall revert to my crappy self.

Peace be with the world. V(^_^)
